Libya Crowned Champions! African Minifootball Nations Cup Derna 2025 Ends in Glory
The African Minifootball Nations Cup 2025 concluded in spectacular fashion at the Derna International Minifootball Stadium, Libya, from 14th to 25th July — bringing together 16 national teams in a celebration of sport, unity, and passion. Officially certified ahead of the tournament, the stadium provided a world-class venue for the final, where Libya defeated Morocco 3–2 on penalties after a goalless draw, securing the championship title. Mauritania clinched third place, marking an impressive finish in one of Africa’s most competitive minifootball tournaments.
The tournament featured thrilling matches, breakout stars, and unforgettable moments. From debutants like Guinea and Morocco to seasoned contenders like Ivory Coast and South Africa, every team contributed to the excitement and energy of the event.
The spectacular opening ceremony, held on 14th July at the Jewel of Derna International Minifootball Stadium, was graced by distinguished guests including Highnest Eng. Belgacem Khalifa Haftar (Director General of Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund), Dr. Osama Hamad (Prime Minister of Libya), Filip Juda (President of the World Minifootball Federation (WMF), Vitthal Shirgaonkar (Vice President of the WMF) and Achraf Ben Salha (President of the African Minifootball Confederation (AMC) & Vice President of the WMF). The presence of ambassadors, federation leaders, and international sports delegates further elevated the grandeur of the evening.
Hosted for the second time by Libya, the championship highlighted the country’s growing role in international minifootball. The African Minifootball Confederation (AMC) praised the event’s organization, vibrant fan engagement, and competitive spirit throughout.
AMC President Achraf Ben Salha commended the passion and unity displayed across all matches, noting, “Derna 2025 reflects the rising power of African minifootball and the unwavering commitment of its member federations.
